On September 26, a press conference was held at the Spīķeri Concert Hall, during which the Latvian Jazz Association was officially launched. The launch was led by the association’s founders—Mareks Ameriks, drummer and head of the jazz music label “Jersika Records,” saxophonist, composer, and artistic director of the Latvian Radio Big Band Kārlis Vanags; saxophonist and executive director of the Latvian Radio Big Band Dāvis Jurka; and singer and director of M/Darbnīca Maya Moira Mazanova.
