Latvian Jazz Society
The main operational goals of the Latvian Jazz Society (hereinafter - the Society):
- support the activities of Latvian jazz and improvised music performers, composers, producers, media and publishers and promote the development of the jazz music industry in Latvia and its recognition abroad;
- to be the official representative of the Latvian jazz music industry in various local processes and to represent its opinion and to inform various official institutions, organizations and supervisory institutions about the needs of industry;
- to be the official representative of Latvian jazz music at international conferences and exhibitions;
- to be the official cooperation partner in the Baltic States, European Union, Nordic countries, as well as other international cooperation projects;
- to ensure internal information circulation of the Latvian jazz and improvised music industry.
In order to realize its goals, the Society:
- organizes the attraction of financial and other resources to achieve the goals of the Society;
- attracts funding to cover partial costs of participants/representatives of the Latvian jazz and improvised music industry for participation in various local or foreign industry events;
- organizes the management of the Society's funds and property;
- develops and approves the procedures by which executors, etc. representatives of the industry can apply for and receive the support of the Society;
- organizes, participates or coordinates representatives of the Latvian jazz and improvised music industry and groups in events corresponding to the objectives of the Society (concerts, music festivals, seminars, master classes, shows, contests, exhibitions, conferences, mass media, carries out informative and educational work, etc.);
- documents the jazz and improvised music industry in Latvia and develops research;
- creates and maintains a database of Latvian jazz and improvised music industry, including educational institutions;
- performs any other activity that does not contradict the existing legislation and contributes to the achievement of the Society's goals in order to achieve the Society's goals.
